Finding Emo

Disney meets Tokio Hotel
Okay, this fantastic cartoon by mandor isn't just a spoof on the popular animation film. It can be interpreted as a political-cultural indictment of our society in multiple ways.
For one thing, it is questionable if this fish changed its bright orange dress of his own will or if one of the many oil layers of the oceans contaminated him.
For another thing, the fishhook piercing and the bruises might be fancy symbols for the negation of normalized society with all its legions of mediocre people - they simultaneously criticise the destroying overfishing by the industry.
mandor wants to call attention to a cultural peristroika in the entertainment industry: the audience no longer demands the happy and innocent Disney film characters which have to distract fat and socially neglected kiddies from their problems. The audience is longing for new characters with evil minds: villains like the medusian Ursula from "The Little Mermaid" who spread violence and turmoil; characters which often have a more profound characterisation than the withe-teethed heroes. Who prefers a noble dinner with slick Christian Bale-Batman if he could eat from trash cans with Heath Ledger-Joker?
p.s. to all of you emos: I know it's a crime to connect Tokio Hotel to the emo scene. But I liked the title ;)
