beware the unthinkable
what a statement ;)
Reminds me of Fox Mulder's poster in the X-Files series, "I want to believe". He believed in UFOs until the end of the series ;)

I'm not very deep into the knowledge how Islamist terrorists are recruited and trained, but I don't think it happens in public mosques. I - at least - can refer to several documentary films and serious feature films like Syriana where it happens in dark backrooms.
I also refer to a terrorist group called the "Sauerland-Group", some islamists (partly converted to Islam) who live in Germany and planned to bomb US airbases here in 2007. Maybe they went to mosques, but it is absolutely unthinkable that their ideas and plans "bred" in a German mosque. They hid in a cottage in a very calm and conservative-christian community.

I think we can all agree that this cartoon's statement is a generalization. What makes it problematic to me, is that it's so broad a generalization. It's like saying Christian churches are breeding grounds for people who kill doctors performing abortions. True, on one hand - on the other hand this always depends on the individual believer, the kind of congregation he is in, the region the church is situated in, etc.
I also have a problem with the vermin metaphor, but that might be my German background.
