Publicly, however, Trump has strongly denied any shortages. On Truth Social, he claimed the United States possesses "massive amounts" of ammunition and threatened those leaking information about the stockpiles to the media with severe legal consequences. At the same time, he publicly praised Hegseth in an apparent effort to dispel reports of internal tensions.
