Ithaca, the book by Alexis Tsipras
Two contradictory things.
So he wrote a book about what happened when he was the Prime Minister of Greece, this great leader who took 17 hours to be convinced by Merkel and Schäuble, leaders of the then economically powerful Germany, which of course would not have been so without Russia’s cheap natural gas, along with all the other great leaders of the Northern European Union, to implement their harsh economic measures that would bind the country for 99 years.
He is the one who broke the referendum, that is, the will of the people.
He probably wrote this book to renounce his political past and come back as a new and handsome figure within the political establishment.
Here, a timeless verse by the poet Georgios Souris is worth recalling: “Oh Greece, land of heroes, what donkeys do you produce now?”
